Job description

General Summary: The Human Resource Director will plan, direct, and evaluate the activities and functions of Human Resources management to assure adequate service to hospital employees and applicants. Promotes a professional image and manner consistent with the corporation’s missions and values. Acts as liaison between employees and management.

Essential Functions:

  • Implements and enrolls employees in all applicable benefits.
  • Creates and tracks Human Resources, Payroll and Benefits data.
  • Assumes an active role in all aspects of employee relations, employee communications, recognition programs and employee advocacy programs.
  • Actively participates in hospital management activities, represents the organization at community functions and programs and in professional organizations.
  • Ensure that employees are notified regarding the status of their benefits due to a status change, termination, leave of absence, part-time to full-time.
  • Assures employees are well informed as to their benefits under each subsection of the benefit package, processing procedures, and enrollment procedures.
  • Promotes professional image during interactions involving any benefits-related issue, especially when communicating with outside contracted insurance providers.
  • Responds to requests for references and other employee information, such as income and employment verification, according to established procedure and in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Develop and administer policies and procedures for application process, applicant notification, and reference checking.
  • Participates in new employee General Orientation to assure communication of house wide personnel policies.
  • Respond to data request by Payroll, Accounting, Infection Control, Management and Administration utilizing database of employee related information.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related area or five (5) years human resource experience.
  • Human resource experience.

Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting, stooping, long periods in front of computer terminal.
