Job description

The Human Relations Generalist is a Champion of People, Diversity, and Inclusion for the Plant, supporting the Plant Manager and Sales BU, local leadership, and hourly associates across three shifts and multiple locations. The HRG provides best-in-class HR services to enhance organizational effectiveness, with strong labor relations skills and the ability to influence leadership and link business objectives to organizational success.

Key Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Human Relations Generalist: Acts as a Change Agent and Business Partner to Plant Manager and Sales Directors, owning initiatives related to Human Relations for the Plant and Sales locations.
  2. Administration: Manages headcount, turnover, exit interviews, attendance, and Trendata related to invoicing. Maintains current job descriptions aligned with evolving staffing and organizational needs.
  3. Associate Learning & Development: Conducts new hire orientations and HR-related training programs such as Leadership Transformation, DSDE, 2020 GB Leader, Diversity and Inclusion, and Respect in the Workplace. Facilitates safety orientations and assesses additional training needs.
  4. Associate Programs: Administers benefits open enrollment, safety surveys, pulse surveys, and responds to HR inquiries from associates.
  5. Associate Relations: Supports HR Manager in developing positive associate relations programs and administers Rewards & Recognition initiatives.
  6. Centralized Recruiting: Acts as HR point of contact for salaried recruitment, maintaining onboarding programs to improve retention of top talent.
  7. Talent Acquisition: Creates and manages staffing plans, oversees recruitment for hourly and salaried positions, conducts interviews in the absence of the HR Manager, and ensures compliance of recruitment files.
  8. Talent Management: Manages associate profiles, goal setting, development plans, reviews, and succession planning.
  9. HR/Organization Consulting: Coaches on BE4HAVIORS, facilitates change management, and supports organizational transformation initiatives, maintaining HR compliance.
  10. Performance Management: Partners with managers on staffing, performance, safety, and attendance issues; leads merit and performance review processes.
  11. Policy Management: Administers and interprets policies and collective bargaining agreements, supporting investigations and grievances.

Additional responsibilities include supporting Manufacturing Transformation and DSDE initiatives, managing HRIS audits and metrics, and performing other HR duties as needed.

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field.
  • 3+ years of progressive HR generalist experience in manufacturing preferred.
  • Openness to cross-training and development within HR.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and online recruitment systems.
  • Excellent communication, multitasking, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively across all organizational levels and demonstrate business acumen and decision-making capabilities.
