Job Description

AECOM is seeking an experienced and motivated full-time Human Health Risk Assessor to become an integrated member of AECOM’s risk assessment and remediation practices. The location of this position is flexible and may be either in-office, telecommuter, or hybrid.

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

1. Supporting a wide range of projects for federal government clients throughout the U.S. (and internationally).
2. Performing human health risk assessments in accordance with regulatory guidance and project-specific work plans.
3. Developing Risk Assessment Work Plans and contributing to Sampling and Analysis Plans/Quality Assurance Project Plans.
4. Successfully coordinating with internal project teams, including delegating to junior staff.
5. Preparing technical deliverables; including writing reports and performing/reviewing risk assessment calculations.
6. Maintaining knowledge of federal and state regulations/guidance documents for conducting risk assessments.
7. Maintaining work quality, quantity, and efficiency at or above company standards.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

1. BA/BS degree in Environmental Science/Studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health, or other related area AND 6+ years of experience performing human health risk assessments in an environmental consulting setting OR a demonstrated equivalency of work experience and education.
2. Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is required.
3. Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Master’s degree in environmental science/studies, Chemistry, Toxicology, Biology, Public Health, Environmental Health, or other related area.
2. Applied knowledge of USEPA Risk Assessment Guidance for Superfund (RAGS).
3. Excellent technical writing and communication skills.
4. Experience performing data analysis and applied statistics.
5. Experience conducting vapor intrusion assessments.
6. Experience evaluating PFAS, PCBs, and lead.
7. Experience working on Navy or Department of Defense projects.
8. CERCLA experience with Remedial Investigations, Feasibility Studies, and ROD development.
9. Experience dealing with the Hawaii Department of Health and EPA Region 9.
10. Experience working with projects in Hawaii, Guam and other Pacific Islands.
11. Preferred work location Hawaii.

Additional Information

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $80,000.00 - $100,000.00.
