Job summary

Moseley Technical Services, Inc. is hiring a Human Factors Engineer to support the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense program, focusing on the GMD Fire Control product.

You will apply HFE, HCI, user research, and UI/UX methods to inform the Agile backlog and drive user-centered design across software teams. The role requires experience with journey maps, user flows, task analyses, and UI wireframes, with a 10% travel willingness.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship is required by Federal Law.
• Active Secret security clearance required.
• Degree in Psychology, Human Factors, UI/UX, HCI or related field with specified experience.
• 2 years of related experience (Bachelor’s) or 0 years (Master’s); total experience not to exceed 10 years.
• Fundamental understanding of human factors engineering applied to software.
• Experience developing qualitative and quantitative user assessment methods.
• Experience collecting and analyzing end-user feedback to drive backlog.
• Experience developing journey maps, user flows, task analyses, or related artifacts.
• Experience with UI design, wireframes, and mockups based on operator tasks.
• Willingness to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Apply HFE principles to software-centric GMD Fire Control system design.
• Develop qualitative and quantitative user assessment methods.
• Collect and analyze end-user feedback to inform product backlog.
• Develop journey maps, user flows, task analyses, and other artifacts.
• Design UI concepts, wireframes, and mockups from operator workflows.
• Translate user research into actionable product requirements and backlog priorities.
• Collaborate with teams supporting GMD Weapon System and GMD Fire Control.
• Support development of user-centered solutions in a system-of-systems environment.
