Goddard seeks a Senior Human Factor Engineer with 5+ years in medical product development to drive usability, risk analyses, and design integration across software, hardware, and fluid interfaces. You will participate in human factors activities, contribute to regulatory filings, and collaborate with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include establishing ergonomic requirements, supporting product teams, and performing diverse HF methods.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years of human factors/usability engineering experience.
Experience in the medical device industry and regulatory standards.
Strong communication, creative thinking, and collaboration.
Flexible to take on additional responsibilities to support an agile and growing team.
Advocate for the patient/customer, and passionate about the value of human factors/usability in the medical device industry.
Willingness to learn and tackle new challenges daily.

Responsibilities

Serve as patient/customer advocate to deliver safe and user-friendly products.
Support HF/usability requirements for new products and line extensions.
Represent HF engineering on core project teams.
Apply HF methods: task analysis, usability studies, risk analysis.
Inform design with quantitative/qualitative data and heuristic guidance.
Create prototypes for testing across interfaces (GUI, hardware, workstations).
Support documentation for regulatory filings (risk analyses, use specs).
Ensure compliance with ANSI/AAMI/ISO 14971, AAMI/ANSI HE75, IEC 62366, IEC 60601, FDA.
Travel as-needed (driver's license required).
