The Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking a summer intern to join our Operations & Analysis Group. You will help multidisciplinary teams research and develop high-impact concepts using human-centered design methods.

You will interview users, observe workflows, and test ideas with stakeholders to improve DoW services. Join a team that values curiosity, collaboration, and iterative learning.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Human-Centered Design or related field with 3.0+ GPA.
• Strong interest in design thinking, systems thinking, or service design.
• Excellent collaboration, communication, and curiosity for learning.

Responsibilities

• Participate with cross-functional teams to develop concepts for sponsors.
• Conduct interviews, observations, and research to uncover user needs.
• Synthesize data to reveal patterns and opportunities.
• Contribute to design workshops and co-creation sessions with stakeholders.
