Job Description:The Purpose of Your Role as a Human Capital + Payroll AnalystThe Human Capital + Payroll Analyst will help keep employee data, time and attendance, and weekly payroll information accurate and moving on time. Working across Human Capital, Payroll, Operations, and Accounting, you'll manage employee lifecycle transactions in Workday, review payroll information, and help resolve issues before they impact employees.You'll become a go to resource for employees, leaders, unions, and project teams while building deep knowledge of Workday, Lumber, union agreements, wage requirements, and the payroll process from start to finish.What You'll Be Part OfProcess employee lifecycle transactions in Workday, including new hires, transfers, promotions, job changes, organizational changes, exemptions, and terminationsReview timecards, job cost, wage, union, and payroll information to prepare accurate data for weekly payroll processingResearch union agreements, wage rates, prevailing wage requirements, and certified payroll information to ensure payroll calculations are accurate and compliantRespond to employee and leader questions, investigate discrepancies, and work with Human Capital, Payroll, Operations, and Accounting to resolve issuesValidate employee changes and payroll information in Workday and maintain accurate, complete employee records and documentationProvide backup support for onboarding, payroll processing, and other Human Capital and Payroll activities as neededThis position combines data accuracy, customer service, problem solving, and knowledge of both Human Capital and payroll processes.What We're Looking For in You2+ years working with confidential Human Capital, payroll, or employee dataFamiliarity with employee lifecycle processes, payroll administration, or HR systemsStrong Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft OfficeAbility to research and interpret detailed information, including union agreements, wage requirements, and payroll policiesDetail oriented approach to reviewing data, identifying discrepancies, and maintaining accurate recordsClear communicator who can work effectively with employees, leaders, unions, and cross functional teamsAssociate degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred; Bachelor's degree preferredWhat This Position Is (and Is Not)This position is:A hands-on combination of Human Capital administration, payroll preparation, and employee supportA position where accuracy and attention to detail directly impact employees and weekly payrollAn opportunity to become a subject matter resource for Workday, Lumber, union payroll, and employee lifecycle processesThis position is not:Limited to entering data into Workday or processing payrollA position where you'll work within Human Capital or Payroll in isolationFocused only on resolving issues after they occur; you'll also look for ways to improve processes and prevent recurring problemsWhy This Position Stands OutYou'll gain a broad understanding of how employee information moves from onboarding and Workday transactions through timekeeping, payroll, accounting, and employee records.
