Job summary

YWCA Metropolitan Chicago is seeking a Housing Program Manager, HUD Certified, to oversee the Housing Program under the Economic Empowerment department. You will supervise staff, manage grant deliverables, and lead housing counseling and education initiatives for participants.

The role requires HUD Housing Counselor Certification within 90 days and the ability to work across city and state lines, including occasional evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of management experience in nonprofit, community-based org, or government.
• Strong problem solving and group leadership skills.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Detail and deadline oriented with ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite and Outlook; experience with client databases.
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings/weekends as needed.
• Travel within city/state and occasional out-of-state travel.

Responsibilities

• Plan and organize activities for housing program goals and grant requirements.
• Ensure activities align with objectives, budgets, timelines, and reporting needs.
• Coordinate HUD certification and oversee program deliverables with the Chief Economic Empowerment Officer.
• Develop and finalize program deliverables per funder requirements.
• Market trainings and events with the Communications team and partners.
• Provide case management and housing counseling services to participants.
