AdventHealth in Orlando, FL is seeking a Health Unit Coordinator for the full-time night shift (7:00pm–7:00am). You will assist in patient logistics, data entry, and inter-department communication while upholding core values and maintaining accurate charts.

Ideal candidates have recent hospital experience as a health unit coordinator, strong medical terminology knowledge, and proficient computer and typing skills. CPR/BLS is required.

• Recent hospital experience as a health unit coordinator or similar role.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Strong English spelling.
• Proficient computer and typing skills.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

Responsabilidades

• Performs other duties as assigned to ensure smooth department operations.
• Notifies and communicates with other departments or physicians when necessary and documents information on charts and records.
• Accesses medication room to place medications in a secure area on arrival to the floor.
• Demonstrates willingness to learn and upgrade skills.
• Supports quality standards and improvement initiatives.
• Interacts with patients appropriate to age, acuity and culture and documents data timely.
• Responds to emergencies appropriately and participates in care transitions.

Job Description:

Performs other duties as assigned or directed to ensure the smooth operation of the department or unit. Exemplifies AdventHealth’s core values of Keep Me Safe, Make It Easy, Love Me, and Own It through behavior. Notifies and calls other departments or physicians when necessary and places appropriate information on the chart, forms, computer, and electronic record. Accesses the medication room to place medications in a secure area upon arrival to the floor. Other duties as assigned. Exhibits a desire to learn and upgrade skills. Supports quality standards and initiatives set by the department. Participates in practice changes resulting from performance improvement activities and accurately documents and monitor activities as needed. Interacts with patients in a manner appropriate to their age, acuity, and culture. Posts pertinent patient data in a timely manner. Responds appropriately in emergency situations. Performs indirect patient care duties related to admission, transfer, and discharge.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Sufficient knowledge of English and spelling to perform various non-clinical duties.

Education:

Field of Study:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent or Completion of Health Unit Coordinator Course Work Experience: recent hospital experience or similar as a health unit coordinator; such as medical office or outpatient clinic.

Additional Information:

Shift: Full-Time night shift 7:00pm- 7:00am.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Basic Life Support - CPR Cert (BLS) [Required]

Pay Range:

$16.02 - $25.63
