Job summary

Maola Local Dairies in Newport News, VA is seeking an HTST Operator on 3rd shift to ensure pasteurization, homogenization and strict GMP compliance in dairy production. You will operate pasteurizer equipment, follow HACCP plans, monitor process parameters, batch schedules, and maintain area paperwork.

The role requires a high school diploma and experience in manufacturing or food processing; HTST experience preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (or international equivalent).
• Experience in manufacturing or food processing preferred.
• Prior HTST systems/controls experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, thermometers, gauges, and flow meters.
• Basic math and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Batch and pasteurize in the production of finished dairy goods.
• Monitor the dairy production process and follow SOPs; report deficiencies.
• Ensure HACCP plan-related activities are completed.
• Operate and troubleshoot HTST pasteurizer equipment.
• Follow batching schedules and ensure raw batching aligns with formulations.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, food safety, and organic requirements.
• Prepare and maintain area paperwork and required charts.
• Maintain sanitation of equipment, CIP/SIP, and general housekeeping.
• Monitor water flush systems and air blows to minimize product loss.
• Perform organoleptic testing on finished product.
• Other duties as assigned.
