Job summary

Maola Local Dairies in Newport News, Virginia, is seeking an HTST Operator for the 3rd shift. You will pasteurize and homogenize dairy products, ensure food safety, and operate pasteurization equipment under GMP/HACCP guidelines.

Responsibilities include following batch sheets, monitoring production, sanitation, and documentation. Overtime, weekends, and holidays are required. Hourly pay is $27.00 per hour with benefits available after onboarding.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED (international equivalent).
• Previous manufacturing or food processing experience preferred.
• Prior HTST systems/controls experience preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret production schedules, thermometers, gauges, and flow meters.
• Basic math and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Batch and pasteurize in the production of finished dairy goods.
• Closely monitor the dairy production process and follow SOPs; report deficiencies.
• Ensure pre-operational, start-up, and in-process monitoring per HACCP plan.
• Operate homogenizing and pasteurizing equipment; adjust and troubleshoot as needed.
• Follow batch sheets for formulations; ensure compliance with standards.
• Maintain compliance with GMP, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct sanitation (CIP/SIP) and general housekeeping; maintain area paperwork.
• Monitor water flush and air systems to maximize butterfat recovery and minimize waste.
• Perform organoleptic testing on finished products.
• Other duties as assigned.
