Job summary

Aston Carter is hiring a Customs Compliance Specialist in Huntington Beach, CA. This contract on-site role focuses on coordinating HTS classifications, import/export documentation, and data management for a growing trade compliance function.

You will work with internal stakeholders, third‑party experts, and brokers to ensure accuracy, regulatory compliance, and timely reporting. The role offers hands-on duties in a fast-paced aerospace-related supply chain environment.

Qualifications

• 2–3+ years in customs compliance or related field.
• Hands-on with customs entry preparation.
• Experience reviewing shipping, freight, and import invoices.
• Experience supporting regulatory compliance initiatives.
• Familiarity with HTS classifications.
• Strong data management and reporting.
• Proficiency with MS Office.
• ERP experience (SAP or Syspro preferred).

Responsibilities

• Coordinate HTS code management with SMEs and internal stakeholders.
• Prepare and submit import/export documentation for accuracy.
• Maintain classification data within ERP and internal systems.
• Collaborate with freight forwarders and brokers on import activity.
• Classify products and maintain HTS codes and master data.
• Assist with licenses, permits, and binding tariff information.
• Support sanctions and embargo screening; escalate concerns.
• Monitor regulatory changes and update processes accordingly.
• Assist with reporting for compliance and audits.
• Maintain records and data logs for thousands of parts.
• Coordinate responses for audits and regulatory reviews.
• Serve as onsite trade compliance resource within logistics team.
