Job summary

APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking an HSSE Business Partner of Safety to strengthen Health, Safety, Security and Environment performance at the Elizabeth terminal. You will lead regulatory HSSE programs, coach leadership, and drive continuous improvement in safety practices across the operation.

The role focuses on embedding HSSE priorities in planning, ensuring regulatory compliance, and building a proactive safety culture while supporting training initiatives and stakeholder engagement across

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related HSSE field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of senior-level health and safety experience.
• Experience leading and developing teams and influencing stakeholders.
• IOSH membership preferred.
• Ability to obtain TWIC/Port Access Card.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain regulatory HSSE programs and emergency plans.
• Embed HSSE priorities into operational planning, resourcing and decision-making.
• Coach managers and employees to strengthen safety leadership.
• Lead risk identification, risk assessments, incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor, vendor, and supplier compliance with HSSE standards.
• Deliver HSSE training, coaching, mentoring, and capability-building initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement of HSSE management systems.
