Job summary

APM Terminals Elizabeth is seeking an HSSE Business Partner of Safety to strengthen Health, Safety, Security and Environment performance across the terminal. You will help embed the HSSE Operating System and influence safe decision‑making at all levels.

You will partner with leaders to drive risk assessment, incident investigations, coaching, and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring regulatory compliance and a proactive safety culture that protects people and assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field required.
• Advanced HSSE qualifications preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HSSE management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Experience leading safety programs and driving incident investigations.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain regulatory-compliant HSSE programs and emergency plans.
• Embed HSSE priorities into planning and resource allocation.
• Coach leaders and employees to strengthen safety leadership across the organization.
• Lead risk identification, investigations, root-cause analysis, and corrective actions.
• Monitor contractor and supplier compliance with HSSE standards and regulations.
• Deliver HSSE training and capability-building initiatives.
• Drive continuous improvement by strengthening controls and performance.
