The role is the owner's representative, supervising the EPC contractor''s HSSE program and ensuring alignment with client expectations on safety, compliance, and risk controls.

The ideal candidate has strong leadership, field presence, and extensive experience with safety planning, audits, and incident investigations in utility-scale energy construction.

Qualifications

  • Experience as Owner''s Representative in large projects.
  • Experience on utility-scale Solar PV and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects.
  • HSSE role in construction environments.
  • Knowledge of LOTO, electrical safety programs, lifting/rigging, piling operations.
  • Experience conducting HSSE audits, inspections, and field assessments.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in EPC Contractor Project Safety Planning meetings to align with client expectations.
  • Represent the client in daily work coordination meetings to verify job safety.
  • Oversee HSSE management program and ensure compliance with client requirements.
  • Lead or support HSSE audits, inspections, and field assessments.

Job description

The Global Edge Group leaders within Oil and New Energies have a very exciting opportunity for an HSSE Supervisor to oversee a billion-dollar super new energies project. The candidate will serve as the owner's representative, overseeing the EPC contractor's HSSE management program and ensuring compliance with the client's expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate shall perform, at a minimum, the following activities:

  • Participate in EPC Contractor Project Safety Planning meetings to ensure activities
  • meet clients' expectations
  • Represent the client during daily work coordination meetings to verify that job safety
  • Planning and risk mitigation activities are adequate and effective.
  • Conduct routine field observations and actively monitor work execution to identify

hazards and ensure appropriate controls are implemented.

  • Work through EPC Contractor management to address and close identified HSSE

gaps and deficiencies.

Participate in and/or lead Owner HSSE monitoring activities, including:

  • Safe Work Observations (SWOs), Workplace Inspections, HSSE Project Assessments and Verification audits.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and guidance to EPC Contractor leadership regarding

client's HSSE requirements and expectations.

  • Verify that incidents, near misses, environmental events, and security events are

properly reported and investigated by the EPC Contractor.

  • Ensure timely communication and reporting of HSSE incidents to management.
  • Validate that the SWPPP and SPCC plan requirements are complied with.

What do we need from you:

  • Previous experience serving as an Owner's Representative.
  • Recent experience on utility-scale Solar PV projects and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects
  • Previous experience in an HSSE role supporting construction projects.
  • Demonstrated experience with: Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), Electrical safety programs, lifting and rigging operations, Piling operations
  • Knowledge of SWPPP (Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan) requirements
  • SPCC (Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure) requirements
  • Experience conducting HSSE audits, inspections, and field assessments.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills. Ability to work independently in a construction environment while effectively
