Job summary

NextDecade is seeking a seasoned Manager, HSSE in Houston to lead governance of the HSSE management system, audits, and incident learning. You will partner with Operations, Engineering, Construction, and Corporate teams to strengthen regulatory compliance and reduce risk across the enterprise.

The role emphasizes continuous improvement, emergency response readiness, training, and the global application of HSSE standards, with travel to Brownsville as needed and a strong emphasis on safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of progressive experience in HSSE.
• Has or able to maintain HSSE-related certifications (CSP, OHST, CSHO, CHST, ASP).
• Incident command system training 100–400 hours is required.

Responsibilities

• Lead HSSE audits, assessments, and management system reviews.
• Develop and maintain HSSE procedures, plans, standards, and forms.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate HSSE requirements.
• Manage HSSE budgets and track expenditures against forecasts.
• Investigate significant HSSE incidents and develop corrective actions.
• Analyze HSSE indicators to identify trends and risk reduction opportunities.
• Support emergency preparedness and crisis management programs.
• Coordinate lessons learned across functions and facilities.
