Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead a high-performing team and partner with site leadership to build sustainable capability.

You will drive risk-based thinking, HOP principles, and continuous improvement to protect people and strengthen operations across the site. Responsibilities include leading HSSE strategies, coaching leaders, managing audits and investigations, and maintaining ISO 14001/45001 while overseeing budgets and programs for improved safety

Qualifications

• 8+ years of Health, Safety and Environmental experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• Minimum 1 year of people leadership or management experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching, communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
• Experience with HSSE regulations, management systems, audits, investigations, and risk programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital management tools; familiarity with ISO 14001/45001 and HOP.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing HSSE team while building long-term organizational capability.
• Establish and execute HSSE strategies focused on learning, system effectiveness, and injury prevention.
• Coach and advise leaders to strengthen risk awareness and safety leadership.
• Drive operational learning initiatives to improve risk management systems.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and learning reviews with a focus on system improvement.
• Monitor HSSE trends, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
• Maintain and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certifications.
• Manage departmental budgets, capital planning, and HSSE programs.
