Job summary

Hitachi Energy is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental programs at a Crystal Springs, Mississippi site. You will guide a high-performing HSSE team, partner with site leadership, and drive continuous improvement in safety culture and operational resilience.

You will ensure compliance with regulations, strengthen risk management, and support business success by applying risk-based thinking and HOP principles across the site.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health Sciences, or related field.
• Minimum 8 years HSSE experience, preferably in manufacturing.
• At least 1 year of people leadership or management experience.
• Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, and influencing skills.
• Experience with HSSE regulations, management systems, audits, investigations, and risk management programs.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office; familiarity with ISO 14001/45001, HOP principles, SIF programs, or related certifications (CSP, CIH, CHMM) is valued.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing HSSE team and partner with site leadership.
• Establish and execute HSSE strategies focused on learning and system effectiveness.
• Coach leaders to strengthen risk awareness and safety leadership behaviors.
• Drive learning initiatives to identify vulnerabilities and improve risk management.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and learning reviews for system improvement.
• Monitor HSSE trends, audits, inspections, and corrective actions.
