Job summary

Hitachi Energy USA Inc. is seeking an experienced HSSE Manager to lead health, safety, security, and environmental programs across the site. You will guide a high-performing HSSE team and partner with site leadership to proactively manage risks and drive improvements.

The role focuses on shaping a safety-driven culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and strengthening organizational resilience through learning and process improvements. Strong leadership and collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Environmental Science, Occupational Health Sciences, or a related field.
• Minimum 8 years of Health, Safety, and Environmental experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1 year of people leadership or management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a high-performing HSSE team while building long-term organizational capability.
• Establish and execute HSSE strategies focused on learning, system effectiveness, and injury prevention.
• Coach and advise leaders to strengthen risk awareness, accountability, and safety leadership behaviors.
• Drive operational learning initiatives to identify vulnerabilities and improve risk management systems.
• Lead incident, near-miss, and learning reviews with a focus on system improvement and organizational learning.
• Monitor HSSE trends, audits, inspections, and corrective actions to identify risks and opportunities.
• Maintain and improve ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems and certifications.
