Job summary

HMH is seeking an HSSE Intern in Houston to support Health, Safety, Security, and Environment initiatives. You will help develop a digital system to assign and track compliance tasks, and analyze HSSE data to identify trends and improvements.

You will gain exposure to global teams, work with executive leadership, and participate in risk assessment projects during a 12-week internship from May 24 to August 13, 2027.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled at the time of internship and pursuing a Bachelor’s in Engineering or Safety.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 required.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Ability to work independently or in a team to support HSSE initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Establish a process to track HSSE inspections digitally.

As an HSSE Intern, you will support the strategic initiatives of the Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) department. You will assist in enhancing compliance and driving continuous improvement at both local and global levels within the organization. This role provides an opportunity to gain high-level exposure to HSSE practices and contribute to the company's overall safety and environmental objectives.

The HSSE Intern also will learn about the following:

Skills/Requirements

• Must be enrolled at the time the internship commences and working toward completion of Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college with Engineering or Safety majors preferred.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Good interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across multiple functions to achieve desired results.
• Ability to work independently or within a larger team as required by the project and subsystem.
• Familiarity with Microsoft office products, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis, now or in the future, without employer sponsorship for employment visa status.
