Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr HSSE Excellence Manager to own the HSSE Management System Cycle across the North American renewables business. You will lead risk-based planning, objective setting, and governance with leadership engagement and data-driven improvement.

You will coordinate audits, develop OKRs, and drive continuous improvement in HSSE performance, with travel up to 25% and office-based work in the US.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental, or related field.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or CIH preferred.
• Minimum 7 years’ experience in a similar HSSE/excellence role in North American energy/manufacturing.
• Experience with HSSE management systems, assurance programs, and leadership team engagement.

Responsibilities

• Oversees and maintains the RWEA HSSE Management System, ensuring alignment with objectives, requirements, and standards.
• Owns Management System Cycle reviews: establish objectives, assess, plan, execute, and review for HSSE.
• Develops OKRs to assess and evaluate risk.
• Oversees HSSE Plan in AirTable or similar with milestones and accountability.
• Maintains RWEA HSSE Homepage (SharePoint).
• Develops HSSE Management System program include annual review timing and integration into planning.
• Ensures HSSE objectives/metrics are set and cascaded.
• Initiates enterprise-wide process safety management principles.
• Coordinates annual risk evaluations across HSSE focus areas to maintain risk profile.
• Ensures systematic identification and documentation of HSSE risks.
• Coordinates assurance, risk management, and safeguard activities.
• Uses results to identify gaps and feed MSC planning cycle.
• Monitors HSSE plan effectiveness and supports corrective actions.
• Promotes workforce participation in risk identification.
• Prepares and facilitates Leadership Team meetings for HSSE topics.
