About the Company
Milbank Concrete Products is a well-established, leading supplier of high quality Precast & Prestressed Concrete Floors, Stairs and bespoke products within the UK. Milbank’s client base operates in both the commercial & residential sectors within the construction industry, Milbank also supply products & services in the rail, agricultural and environmental sectors. Services include advice, design, manufacture and installation of its products.
The business employs around 140 people, these are split between office admin and support staff, manufacturing & construction site-based employees.
Core Responsibilities
- Manage, update, and audit the company ISO45001, ISO14001 and BSI QMS systems, including hosting third party auditors.
- Develop and implement HSEQ policies and procedures as necessary for the business.
- Carry out risk assessments and support managers in carrying out risk assessments, including the development and implementation of safe systems of work.
- Carry out HSEQ audits, inspections and general monitoring across the business premises and processes, for offices, factories, yards & construction sites. Including report writing with corrective actions if necessary.
- Keep up to date with and ensure compliance with all HSEQ statutory legislation and good practices relevant to the business operations.
- Lead investigations and support manager led investigations into all HSEQ incidents and accidents, including report writing with corrective actions if necessary.
- Support admin functions in completing customer pre-qualification questionnaires and maintaining the various SSiP memberships.
Requirements
- Qualified to at least NEBOSH National General Certificate and/or NEBOSH Construction Certificate level. Training to at least this level could be considered for the right candidate.
- ISO standards experience, both management and auditing.
- Trained in mental health and behavioural safety.
- Background and experience in both manufacturing and construction environments
- Innovative, logical, and critical thinker.
- Good report writing skills.
- Communicate authoritatively, sensitively and compassionately with all types of people at all levels within the business.
- Good time management and priority setting skills.
- Possess the experience and knowledge to be the effective point of contact for all internal matters relating to HSEQ within the company.

- Hours: 40hr week, 8am – 5pm. Due to the nature of this role additional hours can be required from time to time.

- This role is an integral part of the day-to-day management of the business and will require the successful individual to be based at the main site in Earls Colne, and on a frequent basis, visit our construction site-based employees at various locations throughout the Southeast.
