Job summary

Westlake is seeking a senior Health, Safety, and Environment leader to plan, direct, and manage HSE programs for multiple business segments in North America.

The role focuses on reducing site risk profiles and raising employee awareness of HSE matters while providing expert support to smaller sites and projects. Strong leadership, regulatory expertise, and incident analysis are essential, with a track record of implementing effective HSE policies.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Science, or Chemistry is required.
• Knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry and OSHA 1926 Construction regulations and related environmental rules.
• Experience with change management and implementing new policies/procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop and drive HSE strategies for Westlake business segments.
• Lead and manage HSE professionals ensuring compliance with laws across site locations in North America.
• Provide expert guidance on federal, state, and international regulations affecting HSE.
• Analyze incidents and near misses to identify trends and recommended corrective actions.
• Prepare and update HSE procedures and budgets across corporate and site activities.
• Support audits and serve as an expert witness if needed.
• Collaborate with operations and project teams on health risk assessments and controls.
