Job description

Job Title: HSE Manager – Utility-Scale Solar BESS Construction

Job Summary

LOCATION: On site at a utility-scale solar BESS construction project in Alamogordo, NM.
DIRECT HIRE, HOURLY. The HSE Manager is part of the construction team and owns the site safety program: develops and implements the HSE Plan and Emergency Plan; evaluates risks and prepares special-risk work plans; delivers safety training and awareness for employees and subcontractors; oversees internal/external HSE audits and inspections and tracks non-conformities; leads incident investigations and root cause analysis (TapRooT or similar); manages workplace injury case management; interprets OSHA standards to prevent citations; ensures PPE availability; manages environmental risks and release cleanup. Reports to the HSE Regional Manager.
REQUIREMENTS (one pathway): (1) 5 years of construction HSE experience on similar projects PLUS a bachelor’s in Safety/Occupational Health or a recognized HSE designation (CSP, CIH, CHST or equivalent); OR (2) 7 years of direct construction HSE experience in lieu of degree/designation. Prior U.S. work experience required. Utility-scale solar experience strongly preferred. Experience with cranes/rigging, civil works, LOTO, confined space, work at heights and risk assessments. U.S. driver’s license. BCSP/NASP certs, OSHA 500/501, NCCER Instructor a plus.
SCHEDULE & COMP: $40-$45/hour. Mon-Fri 10 hrs/day plus 8-hr Saturdays as needed. Rotation: 8 weeks on, 1 week off. Per diem $120/day, 7 days/week except during rotation break (CJR pays rotation travel; no hotels booked – per diem covers lodging). Company truck provided for work use on site.
