Job summary

Component Repair Technologies, Inc. (CRT) is seeking an HSE Manager to oversee the company-wide Health, Safety, and Environmental programs in a manufacturing setting in Mentor, OH.

You will align with HR, Engineering, Quality, Leadership, Maintenance, and Supply Chain to ensure a safe work environment and regulatory compliance. The role reports to leadership and serves as the primary resource for regulatory matters.

Qualifications

• Degree in environmental health & safety (EHS), Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in environmental, health, and safety compliance in a manufacturing or aerospace environment.
• Strong leadership, problem solving, presenting, and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DHS and applicable regulations.
• Ability to interpret regulations, develop procedures, maintain records, and communicate technical information.
• Ability to adjust schedule to meet shift demands.

Responsibilities

• Manage the HSE department and align with HR, Engineering, Quality, Leadership, Maintenance, and Supply Chain.
• Lead safety initiatives, identify hazards, and provide reporting tools to ensure visibility and actions.
• Ensure regulatory compliance with local, state, and federal regulations and act as primary contact for agencies.
• Analyze HSE performance metrics, audit results, and incident trends to identify improvements.
• Manage preventative and corrective actions and establish OTD for HSE items.
• Create and deliver safety and security communications plan (weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually).
• Develop, deliver, and coordinate HSE training programs and frequency.
• Maintain safety programs (respiratory protection, hearing conservation, etc.).
• Develop and monitor internal audit structure and risk assessments to identify hazards and corrective actions.
• Structure annual continuous improvement plans for environmental, health, safety, and security.
• Investigate injuries, near misses, environmental incidents, and safety concerns; implement corrective actions.
• Oversee hazardous waste management activities with Maintenance and Lab teams.
• Develop emergency preparedness and response programs; conduct drills and coordinate with resources.
• Prepare and submit environmental, health, and safety reports, permits, and regulatory filings.
• Represent the company during HSE inspections and audits; support audits with documentation and SME input.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information while exercising professional judgment.
