Job summary

PCL Construction Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced HSE Manager for the Night Shift in Denver, Colorado. You will lead safety programs, ensure regulatory compliance, and develop project-specific HSE training while partnering with project teams to minimize risk.

You will guide audits, coach staff, and drive continuous safety improvements across our projects. This role emphasizes leadership, communication, and a proactive safety culture within a major construction organization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OH&S or related discipline.
• CRSP/ASP certifications preferred.
• 9 years experience in HSE with construction focus.
• 4 years in supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of OH&S and environmental regulations.
• Excellent communication and mentorship abilities.

Responsibilities

• Develops and assists with implementation of project HSE requirements.
• Delivers project-specific HSE training and district training materials.
• Reviews training objectives and communicates safety statistics to teams.
• Oversees hazard identification tools and process improvements.
• Conducts formal HSE inspections and audits.
• Provides guidance on audit requirements to teams.
• Develops PPE training and ensures proper usage on sites.
• Develops emergency response plan and crisis communication for projects.
• Ensures equipment inspections are performed and documented.
• Participates in incident investigations and determines external resources.
• Monitors injuries and manages modified work processes.

Here's how a HSE Manager (Night Shift) for PCL Construction Services, Inc. within Denver contributes to our team:

• Develops and assists with implementation of project HSE and regulatory requirements.
• Identifies, evaluates, develops, and delivers project-specific HSE training. Assists with the development of project training. Assists with the development of district specific training.
• Reviews project training objectives and project trend action plans. Identifies industry statistics and hazards and communicates any expected/anticipated changes to project teams.
• Verifies that hazard identification tools are in place on the project(s) and evaluates areas for process improvement.
• Oversees and conducts formal HSE inspections and audits.
• Provides guidance and coaching to project teams and direct reports on audit requirements.
• Evaluates and verifies that appropriate PPE is being used on project sites. Develops specialized PPE training as required.
• Develops and evaluates effectiveness of project emergency response plan and executes crisis communication plan for project(s).
• Verifies that equipment and tool inspections are being conducted and documented as per the program.
• Participates in the investigation process as per the incident investigation matrix and determines when external resources are required.
• Monitors work injury and ensures modified work is followed and properly documented.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OH&S or a related discipline.
• CRSP certification preferred (CDN).
• ASP certificate preferred (US).
• 9 years of experience in a related industry, with direct experience in HSE.
• 4 years of experience in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of construction processes and terminology.
• Strong ability to coach and mentor others.
• Expert knowledge of OH&S and environmental legislation related to projects/area.
• Ability to coach and mentor others on HSE processes.
• Strong communication and presentation skills on HSE topics to senior managers and projects.

The estimated salary range for this role is $111,000 and $144,000, based on your experience and qualifications. Final compensation will be confirmed as part of a personalized offer.
