Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. seeks a HSE Manager for its Federal Building project in Patuxent, MD. You will develop and implement a site-specific EHS plan and work with project management to meet safety requirements, regulations, and client expectations.

You will lead EHS inspections, investigations, trainings, and audits; coordinate with subcontractors; and ensure proper recordkeeping. Strong communication, problem solving, and travel to project sites are required; CHST or related degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management, or CHST certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
• Excellent communication, critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with ability to prioritize and manage time.
• Some travel required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and coordination with owner personnel.
• Coordinate project EHS programs with subcontractors.
• Plan and coordinate work to eliminate hazards, minimize risks and manage losses.
• Coordinate quarterly on-site EHS audits.
• Inspect project site, equipment and processes for compliance.
• Conduct accident investigations and incident reporting.
• Provide EHS training and coordinate new hire EHS orientation.
• Administer SPAT process on assigned projects.
• Provide weekly EHS update to EHS Leadership.
