Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking an HSE Manager for a project in La Porte, IN. You will develop and implement site-specific EHS plans, lead audits, and coordinate subcontractor safety protocols while ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.

Responsibilities include accident investigations, industrial hygiene guidance, and managing drug-free workplace programs. Requires CHST certification, a safety-focused degree, and 5+ years in construction EHS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety, industrial hygiene, civil engineering or construction management, or equivalent.
• CHST certification or equivalent preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of construction EHS experience.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement site-specific EHS plans in coordination with Project Manager and leadership.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols and audits to minimize risk and losses.
• Lead quarterly on-site EHS audits and regulatory compliance checks.
• Conduct accident investigations and prepare incident reports for management review.
• Escort injured employees for medical evaluation and ensure EHS protocol compliance.
• Advise on industrial hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring tasks.
• Oversee Drug-Free Workplace compliance and testing programs.
• Provide EHS training and orientation for new hires; manage SPAT process on projects.
