Job summary

The Walsh Group - Walsh Construction & Archer Western is seeking an HSE Manager for a transportation project in Richmond, IN. The role focuses on implementing health, safety and environmental processes, investigations, and recordkeeping to meet regulatory and client requirements.

Responsibilities include site-specific EHS plan development, coordination with subcontractors, and conducting audits and incident reporting. Travel and CHST certification are preferred for qualified candidates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction EHS field.
• Excellent communication skills, critical thinking and problem solving abilities, and ability to prioritize, organize and manage time.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement an effective site-specific EHS plan with Project Manager and leadership.
• Coordinate subcontractor EHS protocols for vendors and owner personnel; plan to minimize hazards and losses.
• Conduct quarterly on-site EHS audits and inspections for regulatory and company compliance.
• Conduct accident investigations and incident reporting for Project Management review.
• Assist with Industrial Hygiene protocols and environmental monitoring.
• Administer the Drug-Free Workplace Policy including testing.
• Provide EHS training and orientation for new hires.
• Manage the SPAT process on assigned projects.
• Provide weekly EHS updates to EHS Leadership.
