Job summary

The Walsh Group, Ltd. is seeking a Sr. HSE Manager for the Transportation Division in LaPorte, IN.

You will lead and implement health, safety and environmental processes for assigned projects, guiding EHS teams and coordinating with Project Managers to minimize risks and losses. Responsibilities include developing site-specific HSE plans, overseeing subcontractor EHS protocols, conducting investigations, and ensuring timely reporting while managing the Drug‑Free Workplace Policy and staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering, Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
• 7+ years of experience on major construction projects.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills; strong problem-solving abilities.
• Some travel is required; ability to stand/walk/climb as needed.

Responsibilities

• Implements comprehensive EHS processes for all assigned projects and coordinates with Project Managers and EHS personnel.
• Oversees one or more HSE Managers and develops site-specific HSE plans.
• Coordinates EHS protocols with subcontractors and owner personnel to minimize hazards and losses.
• Leads investigations and documents corrective actions to ensure compliance with standards.
• Ensures reports are completed and submitted per procedures; administers Industrial Hygiene protocols.
• Manages Walsh Drug-Free Workplace Policy and testing procedures; coordinates EHS training for staff.
