Job summary

The Walsh Group is seeking a Sr. HSE Manager for our Transportation Division in LaPorte, IN. The role provides leadership for health, safety and environmental processes on assigned projects and supports PMs in site-specific EHS planning.

Ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Safety/ IH/ Civil Eng/ Construction Mgmt, CHST certification, 7+ years on major construction projects, strong leadership and regulatory knowledge, and willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Civil Engineering or Construction Management or equivalent.
• CHST (Construction Health & Safety Technician) Certification.
• Minimum 7 years of experience on major construction projects.
• Excellent leadership, communication, critical thinking and prioritization skills.
• Knowledge of regulations and hazard recognition, injury management.
• Some travel required; physical ability to stand, walk, or climb stairs.
• Travel involvement across project sites is expected.

Responsibilities

• Implements comprehensive EHS processes for all assigned projects; aligns with corporate, divisional, and regional programs.
• Oversees one or more HSE Managers and collaborates with PMs to develop site-specific HSE plans.
• Coordinates subcontractor EHS protocols and manages vendors/owner personnel on projects.
• Leads investigations and ensures corrective actions are documented and implemented.
• Ensures timely completion of required EHS reports per procedures.
• Ensures Industrial Hygiene protocols are implemented.
• Manages Drug-Free Workplace policy and testing programs.
