Job summary

ABB E-mobility seeks an experienced HSE Lead to drive HSSE programs across North America, balancing governance with hands-on execution. You will lead risk mitigation, audits, and training, ensuring compliance across sites, manufacturing, R&D, and field service.

This role requires a strong electrical safety background, ISO 45001 expertise, and the ability to influence senior leaders. Relocation is not available and eligibility to work in the US is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive HSE experience in electrical manufacturing, industrial, energy or field service.
• Deep knowledge of ISO 45001, OSHA, EPA, NFPA 70E, CSA Z462, and Workers' Compensation.
• Experience leading audits, investigations, and multi-site HSE programs.
• Strong electrical safety competence including LOTO and de-energized work; coaching Field Service Engineers.
• Experience with contractors, auditors, insurers, regulators.
• Ability to influence senior leaders with a pragmatic, risk-based approach.
• US work eligibility; international relocation is not available.

Responsibilities

• Lead HSSE programs across sites, projects, field service, and contractors in North America.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate HSSE risks; develop risk assessments, permits to work, and continuity plans.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, Workers' Comp, and US/Canadian laws.
• Own ISO management systems (ISO 45001); conduct audits and corrective actions.
• Manage contractor HSE performance, onboarding, and risk tools.
• Lead incident investigations, crisis response and emergency prep.
• Develop and deliver HSE training programs (electrical safety, OSHA, driving, etc.).
• Oversee electrical safety programs and arc-flash compliance.
• Track and report HSE metrics and improvements to leadership.
• Support facilities, R&D, manufacturing, field service with HSE expertise.
