Job summary

Syngenta Crop Protection is offering an HSE Intern position in Greensboro, NC. You will work with the North America Regional HSE Team to deliver complex HSE projects and gain hands-on experience in safety, health, and environmental programs.

The role involves assisting with training, audits, risk assessments, and development of HSE systems for a new office and R&D building project, under the Emerging Talent Program.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited university program in Health, Safety, and Environment or similar.
• At least one co-op in HSE during college (prefer two).
• Experience in construction safety is a plus.
• Experience in a lab/research setting is a plus.
• Knowledge of HSE regulations (OSHA, NFPA, EPA, DOT).
• Ability to interpret HSE legislation and conduct site HSE audits.

Responsibilities

• Ensure all activities comply with federal, state, and local HSE regulations.
• Assist with training the site spill team.
• Develop, implement, and improve the HSE program and management systems.
• Assist with risk assessments for projects impacting HSE.
• Provide HSE guidance and training to employees and contractors.
• Assist with the site environmental program (hazardous waste, air permit).
• Assist with IH monitoring (respiratory fit testing, hood monitoring).
• Support site incident investigations and share learnings.
• Participate in cross-functional teams and HSE network initiatives.
• Maintain onsite presence through walkthroughs and inspections.
• Assist regional HSE with project implementation and audits.
