Valeo North America in Reno, NV is seeking a HSE Trainee/Apprentice for a 12‑month, full‑time fixed‑term position. You will support health, safety, and environmental procedures and complete risk analyses as part of a site team.

The role is ideal for a student or recent graduate in environmental or occupational safety, available June 2027 through August 2027, with opportunities to learn from experienced professionals and contribute to improving site safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• You should be a current student pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an environmental or occupational safety related field (i.e. Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or similar) OR be a May 2026 graduate of one of these types of programs
• You should have the ability to work 40 hours per week from June 2027 - August 2027
• You preferably have completed classes in equipment lockout/tagout, chemical safety, and OSHA/EPA

Responsabilités

• You will ensure that all requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented
• You will check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements
• You will carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey
• You will help establish the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application
• You will carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it
• You will assist in implementing and monitoring action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account.
• You will update and complete Safety Data sheets, plus ergonomic and PPE assessments
• You will review and update Safety and Environmental work instructions
