Valmont Industries is seeking an EHS Intern in Valley, NE for Spring 2027. This paid, hourly position supports site EHS programs, safety inspections, and continuous improvement with manufacturing teams.

It offers hands-on experience, training, and collaboration with EHS professionals while gaining exposure to risk reduction and compliance. The intern must be a senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety Sciences or related fields, with a 3.0+ GPA, and be available to work on-site.

Qualifications

• Senior pursuing a bachelor's degree in Safety Sciences, EHS, Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, with graduation expected at internship end.
• GPA of 3.0+ and on-site availability to support manufacturing operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work independently across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Support site and enterprise EHS programs through inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and incident investigations.
• Partner with EHS and operations teams to engage employees and promote continuous improvement.
• Track incidents, near misses, inspections, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.
• Participate in safety initiatives including machine safety, lockout/tagout, ergonomics, and emergency preparedness.
• Assist with employee training, toolbox talks, and safety communications; complete a semester-long project.
