The HSE Coordinator will support the implementation, administration, and continuous improvement of workplace health, safety, and environmental programs.
Working closely with HR, Production, Maintenance, and Operations, this role will help ensure compliance with company policies and applicable safety requirements, coordinate training and documentation, support incident investigations, and maintain accurate HSE records.
The ideal candidate has 2-4 years of relevant experience, strong organizational and communication skills, and is comfortable spending time both in the office and on the production floor.
Key Responsibilities
HSE Operations & Compliance
- Support daily HSE activities throughout the manufacturing facility.
- Conduct routine safety observations and assist in identifying and addressing workplace hazards.
- Reinforce PPE requirements, safe work practices, and company safety procedures.
- Maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and support proper hazardous material labeling and documentation.
- Support compliance with OSHA requirements and company safety standards.
- Participate in facility safety inspections and follow up on corrective actions.
Training & Documentation
- Coordinate internal and external employee safety training.
- Maintain accurate training records and required HSE documentation.
- Assist with safety meetings, toolbox talks, and Emergency Response Team (ERT) drills.
- Track and report HSE metrics, including incidents, injuries, training, and hours worked.
Incident & Workers' Compensation Support
- Assist with incident reporting, documentation, and investigations.
- Coordinate follow-up documentation and corrective actions after workplace incidents.
- Support workers' compensation case administration and employee work-status documentation.
- Maintain OSHA 300/300A logs and related records.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
- Coordinate drug and alcohol testing as required (DOT/Non-DOT).
- Participate in internal audits, inspections, and 5S initiatives.
- Work closely with Production, Maintenance, HR, and Operations to address safety-related needs.
- Maintain accurate and timely information within HSE systems and records.
- Assist with continuous improvement initiatives related to workplace safety and compliance.
Requirements
- 2-4 years of experience in HSE, occupational safety, environmental health and safety, or a related role.
- Working knowledge of OSHA standards and general workplace safety practices.
- Experience supporting safety programs, inspections, incident documentation, or employee training.
- Strong organizational, communication, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees and supervisors at different levels of the organization.
- Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment and spending regular time on the production floor.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, industrial, warehouse, or production environment.
- Familiarity with workers' compensation processes.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
- OSHA 30 or other relevant safety certifications are a plus.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
