BARNES AEROSPACE seeks an HSE professional to support the ongoing development and implementation of health, safety and environmental processes at our Ogden site in Utah. You will conduct risk assessments, incident investigations, trainings and site-level reporting to ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations while partnering with operations to protect employees.

Qualifications

  • Zero to three years of HSE experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Education and experience in HSE programs; with specific regard to Lockout/Tagout and Machine Guarding Programs
  • Ability to partner effectively with the line organization to drive accountability for safety and zero incident mentality.
  • Team player with a strong commitment to the HSE profession.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail. Excellent organization and time management skills.
  • Must have strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
  • Develops effective working relationships which foster integrity, trust and respect.
  • Familiarity with the MS Office suite of applications is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the development and implementation of HSE processes to ensure risk control and compliance.
  • Assist in maintenance of HSE procedures to protect employees and prevent incidents.
  • Conduct job safety analyses, machine guarding and other assessments; recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide required HSE training (HazCom, LOTO, PPE, Ergonomics, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety, Emergency Evacuation, etc.).
  • Conduct incident investigations and prepare environmental, health and safety reports (air emissions, hazard waste, storm water, tier II, incidents).
  • Conduct qualitative and quantitative industrial hygiene assessments and provide site-level HSE training.
  • Conduct ergonomic assessments and develop corrective action plans.
  • Ensure subcontractors participate in all aspects of Contractor HSE program training and certifications.
