Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) is seeking an HSC Adjunct Faculty Member for the Undergraduate Nursing Program in Abilene. The non-tenure track role supports didactic and clinical teaching, collaborates with course faculty, and helps evaluate student performance.

The ideal candidate will be clinically competent, student-focused, and committed to developing the next generation of nurses through mentorship and engaging instruction in classroom and clinical settings.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Minimum of 2 years clinical experience.
  • Unencumbered licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Texas.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with didactic instruction in undergraduate nursing courses as assigned.
  • Provide clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation in a specified clinical area and/or the simulation laboratory.
  • Evaluate student performance and clinical competency using established course and program criteria.
  • Provide timely, constructive feedback to faculty regarding student performance, progression, and learning achievements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for assigned course content and learning activities.
  • Facilitate student learning through effective teaching strategies, coaching, mentoring, and role modeling of professional nursing practice.
  • Maintain compliance with TTUHSC, School of Nursing, clinical agency, and accreditation standards and requirements.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to instruction and student evaluation as required.
  • Collaborate effectively with faculty, staff, students, and clinical partners.
  • Participate in faculty development and orientation activities as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the academic mission of the Health Sciences Center and the School of Nursing.

Position Description

The HSC Adjunct Faculty Member is a non-tenure track faculty position that provides didactic and/or clinical teaching support for the Undergraduate Nursing Program within the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Nursing. The adjunct faculty member collaborates with course faculty and program leadership to facilitate student learning, evaluate student performance, and contribute clinical expertise to support achievement of program and course outcomes.

This position reports directly to the Program Director and supports the academic mission of the School of Nursing through excellence in teaching, mentorship, and student engagement. The ideal candidate is a clinically competent and student-focused nursing professional who is passionate about developing the next generation of nurses. This individual demonstrates excellence in nursing practice, strong communication skills, and a commitment to fostering student success in both classroom and clinical environments. This role offers an opportunity to shape future nurses through meaningful teaching and mentorship while maintaining engagement in professional nursing practice. Adjunct faculty play a critical role in advancing the School of Nursing's mission to prepare competent, compassionate, and practice-ready nursing professionals who serve the healthcare needs of Texas and beyond.

Major/Essential Functions

Visa Information
