Job summary

Richmond Public Schools seeks a Substitute - Instructional Assistant at the high school level to cover absences. The role requires a Diploma or GED, strong communication and organizational skills, and the ability to work with students with disabilities.

The position is part-time with an hourly rate of $14. The candidate should be able to lift up to 50 lbs, assist in behavioral interventions, and maintain confidentiality of student records while supporting teachers and peers in a dynamic school

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with disabilities preferred.
• Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
• Excellent command of business English, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Good skills operating personal computers and related software.
• Adaptable to changing priorities; able to work independently or with minimal supervision.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
• Knowledge of child growth, development and paraprofessional instructional procedures.
• Patience and ability to work with children with disabilities, young adults and faculty.
• Follow written and oral instructions.
• Assist in behavioral intervention programs and maintain confidential student records.
