The International Festival of Arts & Ideas invites highly motivated New Haven public school sophomores and juniors to join a fully-funded, semester-long Fellowship Program accredited through Gateway Community College. The Adjunct Professor will co-teach the cohort, help develop curricula, and mentor students as they plan and present a capstone project.

Qualifications

  • Master's degree or higher in the subject matter or closely related field.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse backgrounds including individuals with disabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

  • Co-Teaching: collaborate with the Fellowship Instructor to co-teach the High School Fellowship Program.
  • Curriculum development: assist in creating and adapting curriculum, daily agendas, and assignments.
  • Student support: provide academic guidance and mentorship for Capstone Projects.
  • Excursions and festival events: co-chaperone, ensure safety, engagement, and learning.
  • Orientation and graduation: assist in planning and attending orientation and graduation.
  • Evaluation and feedback: develop and administer surveys to assess progress.
  • Dedication and reliability: maintain attendance, preparedness, flexibility, and professionalism.

Education
