Job summary

artidea in New Haven is seeking a Gateway Community College adjunct professor to join the 2027 Arts & Ideas Fellowship Cohort. The role involves co-teaching with the fellowship instructor, shaping curriculum, guiding students through capstone projects, and coordinating festival-related activities.

The successful candidate will mentor high school Fellows, ensure a safe learning environment, and collaborate with GCC to deliver a semester-long college credit-bearing experience.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher in the subject matter or closely related field.
• Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Responsibilities

• Co-teach the High School Fellowship Program with the Arts & Ideas Fellowship Instructor.
• Assist in curriculum development, daily agendas, and assignments for the Fellowship cohort.
• Provide academic guidance and mentorship to students, especially for Capstone Projects.
• Co-chaperone Fellowship excursions and festival events, ensuring safety and engagement.
• Assist in Fellowship orientation sessions and the graduation ceremony.
• Develop and administer surveys to assess student progress at multiple points.
• Demonstrate reliability, attendance, and professionalism to support students.
