Job summary

Howard University Hospital is seeking an HRIS Analyst to support and maintain HRIS systems, ensuring data integrity and enabling improved HR operations through technology. You will act as a technical resource, analyze data, troubleshoot issues, and help with system improvements across HR, Benefits, Leaves and Payroll components.

The role involves data analysis, mass data uploads, ad hoc reporting, and collaboration with Benefits, Payroll, and IT teams.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as HRIS functional team expert providing expertise in the HR, Benefits, Leaves and Payroll system components.
  • Investigates and analyzes system problems and develops and implements solutions in partnership with functional clients and IT.
  • Maintains HRIS (Infor/Lawson) system configuration tables and related applications (UKG, Benefits, Leaves) for accurate data entry.
  • Assists in identifying, researching, and resolving payroll/timekeeping issues; addresses data errors with benefits, payroll, and other departments.
  • Manages and/or supports uploading of mass data changes across support systems.
  • Runs ad hoc processes and audits/troubleshoots processes and interfaces; creates standard HR/Payroll reports.
  • Develops and maintains HRIS procedures to ensure consistent use and data integrity.
  • Participates in small to mid-scale projects from conception to implementation with timelines.
  • Trains and coaches super users on application/module use and updates training documentation.
  • Assumes other duties as needed.

HRIS Analyst

Howard University Hospital | Washington, DC

Role Summary

This position is responsible for the support and maintenance of the assigned systems and applications supported by the HRIS team. The incumbent in this role will act as a technical resource to assign functional areas and subject matter experts to ensure data integrity; they analyze and report on the data within these systems, help with system improvements, troubleshoot issues, and ensure the HRIS meets the company’s needs. This role involves a lot of data analysis to help improve HR operations through technology.

What You’ll Do

Serves as HRIS functional team expert providing expertise in the HR, Benefits, Leaves and Payroll system components.

Investigates and analyzes system problems and develops and implements solutions in partnership with functional clients and IT.

Maintains HRIS (Infor/Lawson) system configuration tables in the HRIS system and other applications (as assigned) to facilitate accurate and timely entry and maintenance of employee data (UKG, Benefits, Leaves)

Assists in identifying, researching, and resolving issues when employees are not paid or do not appear in the HRIS and timekeeping systems. Monitors error reports and work with benefits, payroll, and other departments to address any errors preventing employee information from being updated.

Manages and/or supports the uploading of mass data changes within the various support systems.

Responsible for running ad hoc processes and for auditing and troubleshooting both scheduled and ad hoc processes, such as interfaces between the talent management system and other applications. Creates and maintains standard reports within HR and Payroll business support systems and responds to data requests for ad hoc and smart notification reports.

Develops and maintains HRIS-related procedures to ensure consistent use and maintenance of the systems. Makes recommendations on structure and system changes to improve processes and data integrity.

Participate in small to medium-scale projects (teams of 2 or more) from conception to implementation: meeting timelines and milestones, implementing solutions.

Trains and coach super users/subject matter experts on the appropriate use of the assigned applications/modules. Maintains training documentation as needed.

Required Qualifications

Excellent analytical, problem solving, and time-management skills. Strong functional knowledge of HR, Benefits, Leave and Payroll practices and procedures

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Information Technology, Computer Science or related field of study from an accredited school or college required.

2 - 4 years of experience in an HRIS role supporting HR, Benefits and Payroll applications Lawson. Experience with or exposure to Infor/Lawson

Experience working in implementation(s) and/or upgrade(s) of HR/Payroll-related systems/applications (Lawson/Infor/Workday)

Preferred Qualifications
  • Healthcare or hospital HRIS experience
  • Experience with Infor/Lawson (V.10 or GHR)
  • Experience supporting unionized workforces and collective bargaining data needs

Pay & Schedule

This is a full-time, exempt position. Salary range: $70,000 – $80,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
