Hamilton Recruitment is representing a client seeking a Manager, Restructuring to drive insolvency and restructuring engagements across multiple jurisdictions, including court-supported liquidations and cross-border matters.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in insolvency/restructuring, a relevant degree, and a track record of leadership, analytical rigor, and client management. This role offers exposure to lenders, investors and advisory teams in complex, time-sensitive matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
  • Insolvency, accounting, or legal background with a qualification from an internationally recognized institution or professional body.
  • 4+ years of recent relevant work experience across insolvency, restructuring and forensic investigations; offshore experience is a distinct advantage.
  • Driven with leadership skills; ability to influence others and solve problems collaboratively.
  • Risk tolerance and stress tolerance; strong business sense and commercial acumen.
  • Strong financial, analytical and report writing skills; excellent written and spoken communication.
  • Strong people and client management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Hands-on experience in forensic or insolvency engagements including liquidations, receivership, restructuring and investigations.
  • Addressing liquidation/insolvency matters with cross-border elements across US, UK, Europe, Cayman Islands, BVI, and Hong Kong.
  • Day-to-day management of engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, liquidations, and investigations.
  • Drafting affidavits, expert reports and other documents for Courts and creditors.
  • Managing and mentoring junior staff; contributing to best practices.
  • Developing relationships with potential and current clients; collaborating with international offices.

About this opportunity

Our client’s Restructuring practice is focused on delivering effective solutions to a diverse range of stakeholders. Clients include financial institutions, alternative lenders, investment firms, professional services organizations, legal advisors, corporate entities, creditors, and individuals. The team is responsible for taking direct responsibility for organizations facing financial distress across a broad spectrum of industries and complex situations.

Our client is seeking an ambitious and qualified professional to join its team as a Manager, Restructuring. In this role, you will work on a wide variety of challenging and high-profile assignments, often involving multiple jurisdictions. This position offers a unique opportunity to further develop expertise in insolvency, restructuring, and dispute-related support services through direct exposure to lenders, investors, businesses, and their advisors in complex and time-sensitive situations.

Responsibilities:

  • Hands-on experience in forensic or insolvency engagements such as official court supervised and voluntary liquidations, receivership, restructuring, valuation, contentious litigation; support, asset tracing and forensic accounting investigations
  • Addressing liquidation/insolvency matters with complex cross-border elements involving jurisdictions and regions including the US, UK, Europe, the Cayman Islands, BVI, and Hong Kong
  • Day-to-day management of engagements such as financial and operational restructuring, official and voluntary liquidations, other formal and informal insolvency and restructuring procedures, valuations, corporate advisory and investigation assignments
  • Ability to quickly understand and analyse companies’ financial performance
  • Support of participation in legal claims, such as professional negligence and breach of fiduciary duties
  • Working with senior management of companies, clients, creditors as well as external advisors such as consultants, auditors and lawyers
  • Drafting detailed and complex affidavits, expert reports and other formal documents for Courts and creditors
  • Managing and mentoring junior members of staff
  • Contributing to development of best practice
  • Establishing and developing relationships with potential and current clients
  • Working internally with other international offices within the company network

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • An insolvency, accounting, or legal background and a qualification from an internationally recognized institution or professional body
  • 4+ years of recent relevant work experience across the required day-to-day responsibilities, including a strong focus on insolvency, restructuring and forensic investigations, with offshore experience a distinct advantage
  • Driven, displays leadership skills, influences others as well as collaborative problem solver
  • Possessing risk tolerance and stress tolerance
  • Good business sense and commercial acumen
  • Ability to practically apply knowledge to identify issues and solve complex problems
  • Strong financial, business analytical and report writing skills
  • Excellent communication skills (written and spoken)
  • Strong people and client management skills
