Job summary

Pave America HQ LLC is seeking an HR Support Specialist to join our Corporate HR team in a hybrid role with in-office requirements in Richmond, Virginia. You will support 30+ subsidiaries, manage HR helpdesk tickets, and assist with benefits administration and audits. The base salary ranges from $65,000 to $80,000 depending on experience.

You will collaborate with HR colleagues to streamline processes, maintain reports and dashboards, and ensure compliant HR operations across multiple entities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience) preferred.
  • Strong technical aptitude; comfortable learning and navigating HRIS platforms and internal systems.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel (filters, formulas, data tracking) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a positive, “can-do” attitude.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, multi-entity environment.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary dispatcher for the Human Resources HelpDesk, ensuring tickets are triaged and assigned to the appropriate agent; resolve non-escalated requests using canned responses.
  • Serve as a primary support resource for HR-related inquiries within the internal HR team.
  • Provide project-based and administrative support to the HR team.
  • Support the benefit plan renewal process annually.
  • Support benefits administration and open enrollment activities, including data tracking and employee communications.
  • Serve as a backup to employee benefit administration.
  • Support integration efforts for newly acquired companies.
  • Provide support with audits and plan testing, including 401(k) audits and Health and Welfare nondiscrimination testing.
  • Provide support with ACA compliance filings across subsidiaries.
  • Prepare and maintain reports, trackers, and dashboards using HRIS, Excel, Benefit Administration Platforms, and other tools.
  • Oversee garnishments and health & Welfare and 401(k) benefit deductions across subsidiaries.
  • Administer tax notices, including distribution, payroll provider case creation, and tax rate updates across subsidiaries.
  • Respond to Employment Verifications and partner with local HR POCs for unemployment claims.
  • Coordinate training sessions, meetings, and HR initiatives as needed.
  • Partner with Corporate HR to improve workflows and standardize processes across subsidiaries.
  • Handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
