Job summary

UC Santa Cruz is seeking a Human Resources Support Analyst to administer a broad range of staff and academic personnel transactions, including recruitment, hiring, appointments and reappointments, compensation actions, payroll transactions, leaves, and separations. Supports instructional course scheduling.

Budgeted salary information and a hybrid work schedule are provided; this role emphasizes policy guidance, onboarding/offboarding coordination, and liaison work across multiple units to ensure

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in related area or equivalent experience / training.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Problem solving with the ability to think critically and use judgment.
• Experience managing multiple priorities and confidential matters.
• Working knowledge of HR policies and processes.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Familiarity with compliance tracking, reporting, or audit support.

Responsibilities

• Administer a broad range of staff and academic personnel transactions, including recruitment, hiring, appointments and reappointments, compensation actions, payroll transactions, leaves, and separations.
• Prepare, review, and process HR and academic personnel documentation with accuracy and timeliness.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding activities for a seamless employee experience.
• Coordinate faculty appointment and workload processes and assemble dossiers for submission.
• Advise on appointment timelines, documentation requirements, and applicable policies.
• Serve as liaison between UE Academic HR and supported units in the shared services model.
• Track progress on job descriptions, recruitments, and classification reviews; facilitate recruitment activities.
• Provide payroll data support to Academic HR Analysts.
• Support summer session and academic year personnel hiring.
• Provide other HR-related duties as assigned.
