Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP invites interested students to join their HR internship program in Indianapolis. Under supervision, interns will support the HR team with a range of administrative and project-based activities, gaining exposure to day-to-day law-firm HR operations and priorities.

The program emphasizes collaboration, confidentiality, and professional development across HR functions, with a 10-week duration and onsite participation at the Indianapolis office.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a 2- or 4-year college program or recent graduate.
• Pursuing a degree that aligns with a future HR career.
• Organized with attention to detail.
• Ability to proofread typed material for contextual, grammatical, typographical or spelling errors.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professionalism in interacting with team members and internal and external stakeholders.
• Provide timely and accurate information in a professional manner.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including personal computer, copiers, phones, and scanning equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support the HR department to deliver meaningful work that contributes to departmental and business objectives.
• Collaborate with HR team members on assigned projects, data entry and analysis, and process documentation.
• Participate in internal and external meetings to develop an aptitude for field of study and business acumen.
• Observe confidentiality in all HR, Client, and Firm matters.
• Collaborate with other departments and summer interns, where applicable.
• Other duties as assigned/needed.
