Job summary

Illinois Power Agency in Illinois is seeking an HR Specialist to support payroll, timekeeping, and benefits administration within the HR team. You will handle confidential records and payroll vouchers, and assist with audits and reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in HR or a related field and 3+ years of HR experience, particularly in payroll/timekeeping. A merit-based compensation plan and hybrid work arrangement are offered.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, business, public administration, or related field.
• 3+ years of progressive HR experience with payroll, timekeeping, and data management.
• Experience with state payroll and benefits systems is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain employee records in HR systems.
• Process payroll vouchers for submission and reconciliation.
• Oversee timekeeping, leave administration, and data accuracy.
• Train staff on HR processes and systems (SuccessFactors, etc.).
• Support audits and reporting of HR and payroll data.
