Job summary

Garelick Farms, Dairy Farmers of America, is seeking an HR Specialist to join the team. This role supports payroll, recruitment, onboarding, leave management, and employee transactions with a focus on confidentiality and accuracy.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–6:00 PM, with availability for events and shifts as needed. The position requires strong communication skills, discretion, and the ability to work with diverse staff.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Undergraduate degree and/or HR coursework preferred.
• 1–3 years of human resources experience, preferably in a generalist role.

Responsibilities

• Administer payroll processing and ensure accuracy.
• Perform recruiting activities including resume screening and interviews.
• Assist HR with sourcing and hiring strategies to support staffing needs.
• Coordinate recruitment and onboarding with staffing agencies.
• Facilitate onboarding and new hire orientation, including tax documents and I-9/E-verify.
• Handle employee benefits questions and enrollment processes.
• Submit terminations and changes to payroll promptly.
• Manage leave processes and coordinate with payroll and benefits.
• Maintain personnel files and HR documentation.
• Provide information to HR management for inquiries.
• Communicate with corporate and post announcements as needed.
• Maintain employment law postings at the location.
• Assist with employee engagement events and trainings.
