Job summary

Thurston County Government is seeking a detail‑oriented, customer‑focused Human Resources Specialist to join our HR team in Olympia, WA. You will administer the Learning Management System (LMS), coordinate training opportunities, conduct classification studies, and support labor relations and employee relations programs.

The ideal candidate has an Associate’s degree, three years of progressively responsible administrative HR experience, knowledge of state and federal employment laws, and strong

Qualifications

• Associate's degree in business, public administration, HR, or closely related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible admin experience; one year in benefits/compensation or HR.
• Working knowledge of applicable state and federal employment laws.
• Ability to use a computer and related software packages.
• Exceptional customer service and team-oriented approach.

Responsibilities

• Acts as primary LMS administrator, maintains content, enrollments, and coordinates IT updates.
• Coordinates training opportunities and provides logistics before, during, and after sessions.
• Conducts classification/reclassification studies and researches market benchmarks.
• Assists with union negotiations logistics and notes during meetings.
• Provides admin support for the employee relations program and timely inquiries.
• Responds to routine inquiries and routes complex matters to senior HR staff.
