Job summary

Search Wizards is seeking an HR Specialist I in Baxter, MN for a 4-month contract. The role focuses on attracting candidates for entry-level warehouse positions through direct community engagement, job fairs, and grassroots outreach.

You will build relationships with community partners, deliver information sessions, and support referral programs while maintaining accurate recruiting reports and adapting strategies as needed. Some weekend/evening events and local travel required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 6 months–1 year of customer service, recruiting, community engagement, sales, marketing, or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable approaching and engaging with new people in public and community settings.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with local communities to attract candidates for entry-level warehouse opportunities.
• Build relationships with community partners, housing communities, local organizations, and other talent sources.
• Represent the organization at job fairs, community events, information sessions, and other recruiting events.
• Distribute recruiting materials and conduct grassroots outreach in local communities.
• Deliver presentations and information sessions using provided materials.
• Support internal referral programs and other candidate-attraction initiatives.
• Identify creative and effective ways to reach candidates in communities where traditional recruiting and marketing approaches may have limited impact.
• Communicate regularly with recruiting teams and site stakeholders to share local market insights and recruiting activity.
• Maintain thorough and accurate recruiting activity reports and documentation.
• Adapt schedules and recruiting strategies based on community needs, event schedules, and changing priorities.
• Travel locally to nearby job fairs, events, and recruiting activities as needed.
• Work independently at assigned locations while maintaining regular virtual communication with the broader recruiting team.

We currently have a very exciting opportunity available with our client for a HR Specialist I in Baxter, MN. This will be a 4 -month contract role with the possibility to extend.

• At least 6 months–1 year of customer service, recruiting, community engagement, sales, marketing, or related experience preferred.
• Comfortable approaching and engaging with new people in public and community settings.
• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Highly adaptable and comfortable adjusting to changing schedules and priorities.
• Dependable, responsible, and able to work independently with limited onsite supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate reports and documentation.
• Comfortable working some weekends and flexible hours, including occasional early mornings or evening events.
• Ability to work both independently onsite and collaboratively with a primarily remote team.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Ability to travel locally within approximately 30–45 minutes of the assigned work location as needed.

Pay Range

• The pay range for this position is up to $23.27 per hour. Compensation will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This rate is subject to change.
